Hidden gem - Under Skiddaw garden centre

If Keswick is feeling too busy an full of loopy tourists, I will in to a secret escape. Just minutes drive from the town centre is a fab little garden centre with a very specisl little cafe. Head for Underskiddaw, its on the right.

Honesty cafe at Prestbury Nursery - Cheshire

These days you usually need a bank loan to visit a garden centre cafe. I was pleasantly surprised to discover a novel approach at a local nursery just north of Macclesfield.

Unmanned, you make the brews, you set the prices, leave the dishes. Help yourself to milk in the fridge. Unpretentious and a welcome break when you have a toddler in tow. Brilliant idea.
